South Side Farms Announces Search for Executive Director Position

South Side Farms of Cape Girardeau, an urban farm dedicated to fostering economic development, enhancing food access, and creating employment opportunities in south Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is pleased to announcethe opening of applications for the position of Executive Director.

We are excited to embark on this search for a dynamic and visionary leader who shares our commitment to fostering positive change in south Cape Girardeau. The Executive Director will have the opportunity to lead a dedicated team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. The Executive Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of South Side Farms and driving its mission forward.

Ideal candidates for the Executive Director position will possess a strong background in nonprofit
management, demonstrated leadership skills, experience in community engagement, and a passion for
sustainable agriculture and fostering positive change in Cape Girardeau and its rounding area.
Position Overview: The Executive Director will assume responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the
organization, including strategic planning, program development, fundraising, community outreach, and other duties as directed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organizational Leadership: Develop and implement a strategic vision for South Side Farms that aligns with the organization’s mission and goals. Ensure that the operation of the organization meets the expectations of its board and funders. Provide support to the board by preparing meeting agendas and supporting materials.
• Program Development: Lead the implementation and evaluation of community development, and
  educational programs.
• Fundraising: Develop and execute effective fundraising strategies, to include grant writing, donor
  cultivation and special events to ensure financial sustainability.
• Community engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, partner organizations, media, and local government entities to enhance the impact of South Side Farms.
• Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and fiscal management to ensure
  responsible use of resources and compliance with financial regulations.
• Team leadership: Recruit, train and manage a high performing team of staff and volunteers to effectively carry out the organization’s mission. Provide guidelines to the South Side Farms managers to ensure flawless execution of all programming

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business administration, nonprofit management, etc.).
• Proven leadership experience in a nonprofit organization with a track record of successful program
  development and implementation.
• Strong fundraising skills including grant writing and donor relations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
